In-Design: Poster Assignment / Comic Page
In this assignment, your task will be to create a poster(s) that demonstrates what you have learned with inDesign so far. How you use images, simple shapes, colour, type, style, grouping, and size will determine whether you have a poster that is:

- Effectively communicates information

- Your favorite music group is coming to town and they called you up to help promote their show. Create a poster advertising when and where they will be playing.
- A poster advertising a video game or book
- A poster advertising an event
You will be evaluated:
- Your research - slideshow / gallery of a minimum of 15 posters
- Sketch or mock-up of your poster
- Initial poster design
- Final poster after learning about CRAP and under-going editing process
- The effectiveness of your design:
- Layout
- Readability
- Visual Appeal
- Effort and Creativity
- Impact
Your final poster needs to demonstrate much of the following:
- Setup
- Paper size - 11" X 17" - 66p X 102p (portrait or orientation is your choice)
- Margins - 1.5 pica all the way around
- Bleeds of 1 pica
- Non-Facing Page
- Page numbered as page 1
- Multiple text boxes
- Different typographic elements
- Titles / headings / captions

- Use of different fonts

- Variety of text techniques such as
- leading, kerning, skew / slant, horizontal and vertical scale
- superscript, subscript, all caps, small caps, strike through, underline

- Graphic boxes or placeholder elements
- Rectangle / square

- Ability to place (Command D) and image(s) into a placeholder and resize the picture accordingly
- Minimum of 3 images / graphics
- Ideally resolution should be at 250 or higher (marks deducted if less than 150)
- Photographs must be scaled proportionately
- Ability to create a graphic out of the basic shapes
- Properly site on your portfolio page the sources of your graphics and images
